Frequently Asked Questions

When should I come for an appointment?

Some ladies will choose to come as early as the September before their prom, but from the October half term is a more usual time to start looking for prom gowns. Remember, the sooner you come the first pick of the styles you’ll have! This is explained further in the Exclusivity Policy FAQ.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes please, we work on an appointment only basis, please complete this short enquiry form and we will be in touch with some dates.

How long is the appointment?
Your appointment last for 1.5 hours which includes time for order paperwork and payment.
What are your opening hours?
We open from 9.30am until 6pm on Saturday, and evenings in week during busy periods. We also open on Sundays and weekdays during high season.
Make up

Please come wearing as little make up as possible and certainly no fake tan please! We want all our prom gowns to be in beautiful and clean condition for every lady that visits us.

Where do I park and how do I find you?

We do not have our own car park, please note that the car park to the rear of the boutique is private and you will get fined if you park there. However, we are a short distance from both the train station and several car parks within a 5-10 minute walk. Please click here to find out more on our Find Us & Parking page.

How many people can I bring to my appointment?
We welcome you to bring a maximum of two guests to your appointment who must be aged 12 or over please. Please note our prom suite is on the first floor with no lift access.
Exclusivity policy
We have our little grey book to record which dress has already been taken by someone and at which school, we only sell one of each style (even in a different colour) to each school to ensure that you will be the only one wearing your dress on the night.
What price range are your dresses?

Our prom gowns range from £199 to £425.

What size dresses do you have to try?
We are a brand new boutique and currently building our stock levels. At the moment most of our dresses are between a size UK0 and UK12, with a smaller selection of sizes either side. We will be building our range of sizes as the year goes on.
Do you hire dresses?
We only sell our dresses, we don’t offer an option to hire. We do have a huge sale event in the summer though, so look out on our socials if you want to come and grab a bargain!
Do you do accessories?
As we are a brand new boutique this will be something we plan to offer in the near future. Watch this space!

What are your payment terms?

For Off The Peg prom gowns (that you buy and take away on the day) we require payment in full at the time of purchase.

For order in dresses we will take a 50% initial payment at the order point and the 50% balance when the dress is ready for you to collect. Or of course you are also welcome to pay in full at the time of ordering.

Alterations
It is very unusual for your dress NOT to need some alterations, common ones include length at the front and strap shortening. We are pleased to have an ace team of recommended trusted seamstress who can assist you in making sure you dress is the perfect fit, or of course you’re free to use your own seamstress if you’d prefer. We will supply you with the list at the time of ordering. We recommended making contact with your seamstress as early as possible to secure their availability ASAP. Alterations are not done in house and not included in the price of the dress.
What happens when my dress arrives?
Once we have checked over your dress and given her a light steam you will be contacted by email to arrange suitable date to pop by to collect. The collection appointments are for 20 minutes so you are welcome to try your dress on, but this time must also allow for payment of any balance still owing, so there won’t be time to bring along shoes or accessories.
Can we take photos?
Please note that taking photos of dresses during the appointment is not permitted. Once you have selected a dress and completed the necessary purchase paperwork, you are then welcome to take photos of that dress only. We are happy to explain more about this on the day if you wish.
